Shopping Lists, Still Lifes, Life styles
Laura Nitsche transforms discarded or left-behind shopping lists she finds in public spaces into still lifes in the style of the old masters. Even the packaging material is recycled into "garbage lives."
CoroNah - DisTanz
Two people always keep their distance, move - connected with an elastic band - in space and are close to each other and yet also far away. In the series "CoroNah - DisTanz" Laura Nitsche translates these performances with fabrics and painting on large-format canvas, and poses the question of closeness and distance in largely contactless times.
Closeness and Distance
The artistic interweaving of proximity and distance also reveals the depth of Styliano Schicho's large-format works. Although many of the figures turn away from the viewer in their posture, they address him directly and all the more penetratingly with their gazes, which turn the observer into the observed. A pull develops that leads into the semi-transparent world of figures in charcoal and acrylic.
