Dörte Lyssewski reads Florentina Pakosta

Florentina Pakosta is one of the great artists of the 20th century and the present. In her painting and in her texts, she deals with developments in society and consistently represents feminist concerns and positions. The actress Dörte Lyssewski will read from texts by Florentina Pakosta in a live stream. Sunday, 10.01.2021 | 11 am.

The actress Dörte Lyssewski received her training at the Hochschule für Musik u. darstellende Kunst in Hamburg. In 1989 she made her debut with Peter Stein's "Kischgarten" as "Warja" at the Berlin Schaubühne and worked there with Peter Stein, Klaus Michael Grüber, Luc Bondy and Edith Clever, among others. Her path led her to the Deutsches Theater, Berlin (Heiner Müller and Jürgen Gosch). At the Berliner Ensemble she worked alongside Bondy with Claus Peymann. She was at the Schauspielhaus Bochum under Matthias Hartmann. There she performed in productions by Hartmann, Ernst Stötzner, Wilfied Minks and Nicolas Steemann, among others. At the Wiener Festwochen she appeared in "Viol", "Yvonne", "Elektra" and "Die Ähnlichen", among others. She also performed for years at the Schauspielhaus Zurich.

Since 2009 she has been engaged at the Vienna Burgtheater and has appeared in productions by Alvis Hermanis, Martin Kušej, Luc Bondy, Dušan D. Parišek,Thomas Vinterberg, Bastian Kraft and Barbara Frey, among others. In Paris she performed Botho Strauß'"Viol" at the Odéon .For decades she has worked regularly at the Salzburg Festival, among others with Andreij Wajda. She was Stein's "Libussa", the "Buhlschaft" in "Jedermann" or "Andromaque" in Herbert Wernicke's "Les Troyens", as well as Honegger's "Jeanne d'Arc au bucher" or the "Schalek" in the "Letzten Tage der Menschheit".

Musical works led her several times to the Ruhrtriennale to G.Mortier (among others "Die Zauberflöte" with La Fura del Baus and Honnegger's "Jeanne d'Arc" directed by Stanilas Nordey), the opera in Montpellier(among others. René Koering's "Penthésilée"), the Théâtre de la Monnaie Bruxelles, the Berlin Philharmonie ("Manfred"), the Elphilharmonie, the Alte Oper Frankfurt, and the Philharmonie Köln. She has worked with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Ingo Metzmacher, Sylvain Cambreling (including "Le Martyr de St.Sébastien"), Mark Minkowski and Alain Altinoglou. She repeatedly performs at the Konzerthaus Wien with readings and concerts. Her work with Klangforum Wien, Ensemble Franui, and pianist Igor Levit is equally continuous.

In addition to the Kainz Medal (1999) and the Getrud Eysold Ring (2004), she was awarded the Nestroy in 2012 and 2018. In 2015, her first collection of stories, "Der Vulkan oder die Heilige Irene," was published by Matthes und Seitz in Berlin.
